Resume Tailor
Tailor your resume and cover letter to any job posting without inventing a thing
Resume Tailor helps your agent adapt your resume (or CV) and cover letter to one specific job posting. It is for job seekers who apply to roles they are genuinely qualified for and want that to be obvious to both the applicant tracking system and the recruiter.
How it works
Paste the job posting and your resume. The skill decodes the posting into knock-out criteria, must-haves, nice-to-haves and keywords, then maps each requirement to your actual experience: strong match, buried, different wording, adjacent, or missing. It asks up to five targeted questions to surface experience and numbers you left out, rewrites your summary, skills and bullets with an impact formula, applies ATS-safe formatting, and drafts a cover letter specific to the role.
The honesty rule
The skill never adds skills, employers, titles, dates, degrees or metrics you have not confirmed. Missing requirements stay missing and are handled honestly, for example in the cover letter. Anything still unconfirmed is marked for you to check.
What you get
- A tailoring workflow with gap table, questions, rewritten resume, change log and cover letter
- A reference on posting analysis, keyword placement, ATS-safe formatting and regional conventions
- A reference on bullet rewriting, summaries and cover letter structure, with before/after examples
- A full worked example for a fictional analyst role
No tool can guarantee interviews; this one makes your real experience easier to find and read.
Highlights
- Keyword and requirement gap analysis against your real experience
- Bullet rewrites with an action-scope-method-result impact formula
- ATS-safe formatting rules and regional resume/CV conventions
- Matching cover letter plus a change log for every edit
- Honesty rule: never adds skills, titles, dates or numbers you didn't give
Example
Here's my resume and the posting for Senior Product Analyst at a fintech. How well do I match?
| Requirement | Priority | Evidence in resume | Status | Action | |---|---|---|---|---| | US work authorization, hybrid NYC | Knock-out | Not on resume | Check | Question 1 | | 4+ years analytics | Must | 2019-present, about 5 years | Strong match | State in summary | | Advanced SQL | Must | "Wrote SQL queries" (role 2) | Buried | Move up, add scale | | A/B test design and analysis | Must | "Helped PMs with pricing page tests" | Buried | Ask about ownership and count | | Dashboards (Looker preferred) | Must | "Created dashboards"; Tableau | Adjacent | Ask about Looker | | Presenting to execs | Must | None | Missing | Ask | | dbt | Nice | None | Missing | Ask; not added unless confirmed | Must-haves evidenced: 4 of 6 (2 buried, 1 adjacent). This shows where the resume is unclear, not whether any system will pass it. Questions: 1. Are you authorized to work in the US, and is 3 days a week in NYC workable? 2. For the pricing tests: did you design them, analyse them, or both? How many, any results? 3. Have you used Looker, dbt or an experimentation platform?
Make this stronger: 'Helped product managers with pricing page tests.' I wrote the analysis plans and analysed 9 tests; one lifted annual plan uptake from 18% to 26%.
Before: Helped product managers with pricing page tests. After: Planned the analysis for and analysed 9 pricing-page A/B tests (2024-2025); the annual-plan test raised annual plan uptake from 18% to 26%. Why: starts with what you actually did (planned the analysis, analysed), adds scope (9 tests, dates) and a measured result, and uses the posting's term "A/B tests". I did not write "designed the tests" because you said you wrote the analysis plans; if you also designed the variants, tell me and I'll adjust.
The posting wants Statsig experience. I've never used it. Can you just add it to my skills?
I won't add Statsig, because you haven't used it and interviewers often ask about every tool listed. What I can do honestly: - Skills: keep "A/B test design and analysis" (true and the core requirement). - Cover letter sentence: "I haven't used Statsig; our experiments ran on an in-house tool. I would be glad to talk through how I have handled test design without a dedicated platform." - If you want to close the gap, many experimentation platforms offer free tiers or documentation you could work through; once you have done a real project with one, add it with an accurate qualifier.
